SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) — Shares of the following companies were making notable moves in the U.S. stock market Wednesday:

Daktronics Inc.’s /quotes/comstock/15*!dakt/quotes/nls/dakt DAKT +9.21%   shares climbed 9.2% after the maker of electronic scoreboards and billboards reported better-than-anticipated fourth-quarter results.

Oexigen Therapeutics Inc.’s /quotes/comstock/15*!orex/quotes/nls/orex OREX +18.06%   shares jumped 18% after the diet-pill developer said it would make a regulatory announcement about its obesity treatment in two days.

Telvent GIT SA’s /quotes/comstock/15*!tlvt/quotes/nls/tlvt TLVT +15.34%  U.S.-listed shares rose 15.3% after France’s Schneider Electric said it would acquire the Spanish software maker for $2 billion.

Dollar General Corp.’s /quotes/comstock/13*!dg/quotes/nls/dg DG -9.30%  shares slid 9.3% after the discount retailer reported adjusted first-quarter earnings below analysts’ forecasts.

Jos. A Bank Clothiers Inc.’s /quotes/comstock/15*!josb/quotes/nls/josb JOSB -13.29%  shares tumbled 13% a day after the retailer reported first-quarter results that fell short of expectations.

Monster Worldwide Inc.’s /quotes/comstock/13*!mww/quotes/nls/mww MWW -6.87%  shares fell 6.9% after a weak report on May private-sector jobs growth had investors concerned about the online employment site’s prospects.

Nokia Inc.’s /quotes/comstock/13*!nok/quotes/nls/nok NOK -4.70%  U.S.-listed shares declined 5% a day after the Finnish mobile-phone maker warned that second-quarter sales and margins would come in below expectations.

EntreMed Inc. /quotes/comstock/15*!enmd/quotes/nls/enmd ENMD -20.68%  shares plunged 20%. The biotech firm is scheduled to present Phase II data for its drug ENMD-2076 for the treatment of ovarian cancer on Friday, June 3, at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Shares of Juniper Networks Inc. /quotes/comstock/13*!jnpr/quotes/nls/jnpr JNPR -9.94%  fell almost 10%, a day after a Wall Street analyst informed clients that the networking gear maker is off to a “slow start” for the quarter ending in June. Read analyst comments

Safeway /quotes/comstock/13*!swy/quotes/nls/swy SWY -6.23%  slumped 6.2% in line with declines in other supermarket chain stores.

AK Steel Holding /quotes/comstock/13*!aks/quotes/nls/aks AKS -5.10%  shares slid 5.1% after the steel producer said that a $440 per ton surcharge will be added to invoices for electrical steel products shipped in July 2011. Read more on the surcharge
